I have an idealistic and passionate view of education. I want what all parents want for their children and, indeed, what children want for themselves – that they should be inspired and motivated in an environment which is stimulating and exciting, happy and safe.
Unfortunately, too many schools are far from being inspired, too many of our children get lost in a impersonal system which does not motivate them, and which stifles their individuality, their initiative and their creativity. These are precisely the qualities which I value most.
At Lomwe Secondary School, we strongly believe that academic excellence and intellectual sophistication offer unsurpassed preparation for global citizenship and bottom line of education.
We also promise to prepare children for a life of leadership, service, respect for others, creativity, personal fulfillment and a sense of responsibility for one’s own actions. In the 21st century, the age of knowledge, in which unforeseen situations, knowledge obsolesces, and outdated skills pose a great threat.
To deal with the situation, we stress on Strategic competencies; First is ability to Learn, Unlearn and Relearn; Second is having the talent to synthesize information; Third one is innovation and the Fourth one is what we may call the master value, the value of love – the desire to reach out to those who are marginalized or are suffering. At the end of the day, education must make a person humane and feel compassionate towards those who are unfortunate.
I look for a number of qualities in a school – high expectations of children, passionate and enthusiastic teachers, caring and supporting pastoral team, a learning environment, strong value system.
I assure you will find all these at Lomwe Secondary School.
We look for a longer and meaningful association with you.
